Ways to start an essay: Online and paper based portfolios

In the past students had to keep track of their work in online portfolios and present their work to teachers. Other students kept paper portfolios that included all their work in college. In this essay I will outline the difference between paper based portfolios and online portfolios.
In the past many students kept examples of their work in huge paper folders or binders. Some students had problems with paper portfolios because they lost their folders and work assignments and they weren’t organized. This is one example of how students had no form of communication with their teachers and that’s one disadvantage of them not using modern methods of data storage. Another disadvantage is students didn’t want to give effort and practice more about online portfolios. Features of paper portfolios are the essays and tests carried out in class and all documents the student kept in his folder. Many colleges are asking students to keep all their work online which means students must have online portfolios after completing their course. Students became familiar with online portfolios and that has helped them organize their work and assessments.
Working on an online portfolio can help the student organize his assignments, quizzes and essays. Online portfolios include discussion forums, tests, quizzes and course information in addition to deadline dates for scheduled tasks and the results for quizzes and assignments. The student completes his assignments and submits his work for the teacher to review and then grade his assignments. The student completes his assignment and adds it to his online portfolio and sends a link to his teacher. The teacher reviews his work and comments on it.
The purpose of having online portfolios makes it simple for students to submit assessments and review their work online. Students today don’t want to carry heavy paper binders to keep all their work instead they prefer to have online portfolios.
